FAQs

Q: What is a “full cord?” “half cord?” “quarter cord?”

A: Absolutely. Loading is provided! Please call to schedule an appointment for onsite pick-ups.

Click the “Gallery” tab for pictures of a 5.5 ft. truck bed loaded with a 1/4 cord. Truck beds smaller than 6 ft. cannot hold 1/2 cords.

Q: What is “seasoned” wood?

A: Seasoning is the process of drying wood before use. We allow our wood to sit for about 8-10 months in order to dry-out and become perfectly seasoned. Unseasoned wood produces smoke and burns poorly.

Q:  I have a gas starter, do I need a soft wood?

A: No, a gas starter will start the fire then can be turned off. Just keep feeding the fire logs as needed!

Q: What if I don’t have a gas starter?

A: We recommend getting a 50/50 mix of soft wood & hard wood. The soft wood will get the fire going & keep it going.

Q: What is soft wood?

A: Soft wood is starter wood. It won’t last long but does help get the fire going & keep it going. Great for campfires or fireplaces with no gas starter. Examples of soft woods we carry, Avocado & Pine.

Q: What is hard wood?

A: Hard wood is tough to get going but lasts longer once started & will burn hotter. Examples of hard woods we carry, Oak, Eucalyptus & Almond.
